21 reasons why you should eat fat

Fat got bad press for far too long. You have to eat enough healthy fats to stay lean, have less cravings and perform with constant high energy: Fat is the fuel for the brain, it saturates and helps keep hormones in balance. If we eat less carbohydrates and protein and our energy requirements remain the same, then there is only an increased fat intake to ensure the sufficient energy supply.

Low carb bread made of cauliflower and almond flour

You don't have to skip the weekend brunch with its fine, freshly baked piece of bread and butter or cheese. Carbohydrates: to eat or not to eat? That is not the question. Which ones to eat...That is the question!

There are different sources of carbohydrates and you have to distinguish between the following: (1) How many carbs and fibre they contain (2) How quickly they get into the bloodstream in the form of glucose. It is important to note that everybody is unique and what spikes insulin in one person's body, doesn't spike in the others. Knowing your body and taking informed (thus data-based) dietary decisions is key.
