Investment banker by day, athlete by night: How Raymund Bareuther combines job and rowing on a national level

Raymund advises company owners and investors on the acquisition, merger or and sale of companies. A job that requires precision and professionalism. Mental strength is therefore one prerequisite for long-term success. Despite or perhaps because of his little free time, Raymund has managed to be the number one rower in different categories time and time again. How does he do that? The current Swiss champion (age group Masters A) in the single and double scull shares in an interview his training routine, his new passion which came out of the corona crisis and his dietary choices. The AURUM High Intensity Training also has a weekly 20 minute slot in his busy agenda.

Dry Needling: How to relieve tension in the body with a needle?

Tense neck, stiff thighs, inflamed knees: what to do? A good six years ago I had had enough of all the injuries of martial arts and decided to quit. My neck was constantly stiff and tense due to crouching or dodging. My knee was always inflamed, blocked or swollen from the kicks. My best friend at the time was the bright orange pill with the content ibuprofen, which I took immediately after the training. Until I discovered a replacement: Dry Needling.

Heart rate variability (HRV): the strongest indicator of performance recovery

Imagine the match of your life. Tennis match. You hold a racket in your hand and take a few deep and slow breaths to concentrate before you hit the ball. Or think of Shavasana, the state of deep relaxation at the end of each yoga class. In both situations we use the breath to calm the mind. This can also be measured in our body using heart rate variability (HRV). A higher HRV goes hand in hand with mindfulness, relaxation and mental presence. Learn to use HRV to achieve your desired fitness and health state.

You should stretch too, right?

Ahhhh ... the tiresome subject of the flexibility and long lean muscles. It's healthy when you hit the ground with your hands in front - can't you do it? Tsss tss tss... Heard many times, nowadays we don't say anything anymore. Of course, you should stretch if you have a shortening! But if not, ask back: why? Is stretching overrated? Stretching can postpone recovery after a HIT workout. So, when to do stretching and when not?
